Abstract

Dr. Bonnell began his illustrious career on Prince Edward Island as a medical practitioner. In his later years his entrepreneurial achievements included partnership in the province's first cable television company. A provincial politician for 20 years, he held cabinet posts in health, welfare, housing and tourism and was responsible for innovative programs in each. For 27 years he was a member of the Senate of Canada.
