"We received, my husband Clem and I, from the Morris family a box of cards on which was written the contents of tape recordings that Mrs. Dorothy Morris of Dundas, had conducted in 1981. The recordings had been made when Mrs. Morris visited seniors in the Boughton Bay and Cardigan Bay area of Kings County, Prince Edward Island. She asked them to talk about what they remember of the early days and the kind of life they and their parents experienced growing up in their fishing/farming communities. Mrs. Morris taped [sic] recorded these conversations and later wrote out the significant points on five by seven cards. ... We were not sure what was to be done with this material but after a number of years had gone by we found that there may be some interest in reproducing the notes in book form for the general public." -- "Foreward" [sic]. p. i.
