L'affaire est encore une fois vivement délibérée et, lors d’un scrutin, 20 membres votent en faveur et 10 contre «qu’on aille de l’avant avec l’ouvrage».

Les directeurs et autres membres de l’ Association se mettent aussitôt à l’oeuvre pour préparer le nouveau terrain à Abram-Village. On y déménage l’ancien palais de justice qui se trouve à peu de distance, soit à côté de la fromagerie, laquelle était située là où se trouve aujourd’hui l’immeuble à appartements. On construit aussi une salle relativement spacieuse pour y exposer les travaux d’artisanat, les produits de la cuisine et les fleurs.

Avec ces nouvelles installations, l’exposition de 1939 attire évidemment une bonne foule et retient l’attention de la presse. Le Guardian écrit :

Comme l'Exposition de Baie-Egmont se déroulait cette année sur son nouveau terrain à Abram-Village, elle a suscité un intérêt considérable.[...] Des bâtiments spacieux

The subject then underwent further lively debate, followed by a ballot in which 20 members voted for the proposal “that we should forge ahead” and ten opposed.

The directors and other members of the Association immediately set to work to prepare the new site in Abrams Village. They relocated the old courthouse which was not far away, next to the cheese factory where the apartment building now stands. They also built a fairly spacious building to house the crafts, baked goods, and flower exhibits.

Inevitably, with these new facilities, the 1939 Exhibition attracted a big crowd and caught the attention of the press. The Guardian wrote:

Considerable interest was taken in the Egmont Bay Exhibition this year as it was held on the new fair grounds at Abrams Village [...] Commodious buildings have been erected on the grounds and the fair had a very prosperous appearance, with a record attendance. (September 14, 1939)

Cette compétition annuelle a eu lieu pour la première fois en 1939. Abandonnée en 1961, elle a été reprise en 1983 et elle demeure toujours une attraction populaire de l’Exposition. Sur cette photo prise probablement en 1954, on aperçoit Cédric Gallant d’Abram-Village avec les chevaux de son père.
