DEDICATION When I was growing up in Souris, I was frequently reminded by my father Raymond A. (1912-1981), and two uncles, George A. (1908-1967) and J. Russell (1904-1993), that I should be proud of my hometown, my province and my country. A fourth son of the late Waldron Brewer and Emily F. (Ayers) Leard, T. Wendall (1907-1930) -a talented scholar, sportsman and educator - tragically died, leaving memories of unfulfilled potential. There was “Nothing Trivial” about their affinity and allegiance to their home town and eastern Prince Edward Island. There was “Nothing Trivial” about the tens of thousands of articles and artifacts they _accumulated, and there was “Nothing Trivial” about their preservation of Island heritage. ‘This book is dedicated to the memory of the Leard boys.
