Icon of St. Mark. Presented to the congregation by Rev. G.R. Taylor , 1975. L . to R. — Rev. Cameron Bigelow , Rev. G.R. Taylor , Martin Myers and Hugh Lowry . In October 1974 the first St. Mark's Brownie Pack was organized which operated until 1982. A Youth Group was organized in September 1975, co-ordinated by Mrs. Davida Stewart . This group continued to meet off and on until the middle of 1983. The congregations of St. Columba Presbyterian Church, Marshfield , and St. Mark's were amalgamated by the Presbytery of P.E.I , to form a two-point charge on June 13th, 1976. This added strength made it possible for the Sherwood- Marshfield charge to pay the full cost of the ministry without assistance from the Board of World Missions. The Board continued to provide funds for payment of the mortgage on the manse. A Memorial Fund was established early in 1976, and the Heather Cameron Resource Centre was dedicated in November of that year. In 1976 the Session drew up guidelines for Committees of Session in order to help it carry out the different parts of its work more effectively and to involve more members of the congregation in the various programs of the church. Three new committees were set up in 1977: the Worship and Social Committee, the Mission and Outreach Committee, and the Christian Education Committee. 10
