1990, standing at one hundred-thirty-four. The number of adherents at this same date is approximately ninety-eight. The congregation takes an active part in the work of the church. Members serve as leaders of the various groups, as teachers in the Church School, and on regular and special committees. Lay readers take part in the services of worship, along with members of the Senior Class of the Church School and members of the Session. Members of the congregation who possess musical talents participate from time to time in services of worship supplementing the musical leadership provided by the choirs. Volunteers provide transportation to the church for those requiring service. When the founding members met in Sherwood Hall back in 1966, it was with a vision of establishing a Presbyterian presence in the Sherwood area. In 1991 the congregation of St. Mark's celebrates that vision and its twenty-fifth anniversary. God has richly blessed this church in the first twenty-five years of its witness in the Sherwood area, and we hope that He will continue to do so in the years to come.
