The Whole Picture
I bought this place about 50 years ago and put up these buildings. But I got no help from the government. I didn’t look for it. And I wouldn’t get it anyhow. I suppose I was on the wrong side of the fence. You know, I was supposed to be a first-class carpenter. I was going all the time, more than I could do. So I didn’t have to bother them for anything. Well, I wouldn’t anyhow. I’d starve to death on the side of the damn road before I’d borrow any money. That’s the way I looked at it... . Yeah, that was the picture.
