It was typical for railroaders to assign nicknames to fellow workers andJut was no exception; he was referred to as Bangor Bill by most of his railway buddies and although he always signed his name as j S. Duncan, he was known as Bill everywhere except PEI where he was always jut. Jut worked for the CPR for well over 40 years.
Jut had always dreamed of returning to his Island when he retired. He retired in March 1948 and in April 1948 made his journey to the Island and enjoyed a reunion with family and friends. Unfortunately, only a few days after his return to Ontario he suffered a stroke and died almost immediately. Millie continued to live in Port McNicoll, Ontario.

Cal spent most of his working career as an industrial engineer. He had a successful career as a financial advisor with an investment firm in Toronto after retirement. Cal was a part time university student throughout his life, receiving his BA from York University in 1971, and Bachelor of Philosophy in 1990, shortly before his death.
