in Baker Lake where Judy taught school. David and Judy moved to Judy’s childhood community, North Tryon, in 1978, and purchased the Heath Chisholm double house. David converted the house into 2 apartments. The Giesbrechts returned to the north the following year, this time to Frobisher Bay, Baffin Island, where they stayed for 4 years. Judy, David and Kathy returned to North Tryon in 1982. They live on the former Esso Service Station site where David has converted the station to a workshop and added a second story apartment. Judy is a member of the Tryon United Baptist Church.

David Giesbrecht and Judy Thomas had 1 child: Kathy Mary Enid b. 13 March 1973, a student.
