Will Hatley lived near the brook on the road going from the Presbyterian Church to Mount Tryon. Spurgeon Clark bought this
house from Fred Dawson in 1942 and moved it to his property in Tryon. As an elderly man, Will Hatley travelled to Dixon’s Store with his
request for a can of milk, a loaf of bread, and afig of twist.

Eleza purchased a small house from Alfred Croggett in 1917 and had the house moved to the north side of the driveway to her father’s home. Edward Sharkey, Eleza’s uncle, finished the inside of the house.
