in 1934. Charles worked with his uncle Charles in North Tryon until 1936, when he became Manager and Chief Engineer for Summerside’s Electrical Plant. Charles assumed the position of Assistant Manager of the Cornwall Street, Railway, Light and Power Company in 1938. He became the General Manager in 1942, a director in 1949, and later Executive Vice President. Charles was president of the Canadian Elec- trical Association in 1954 and while serving his term he received an Honorary Doctor of Science from Laval University, Quebec City.
