Charles R. and Charlotte lived on a farm at Tryon , now North Tryon . Charles was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and in politics was a Liberal. The Argus carried the following news on 23 Feb. 1875: Died- At Tryon on the 5th. inst., after an illness of 4 years of severe suffering, which he bore with Christian resignation to the will of His Heavenly Father, Charles R Lord , age 70yrs.. Peoples Cem.; John 2nd. m. 19 Aug 1869 Annie Jane MacPhee Taylor. John A. and Jane lived in Tryon , across from the Tryon Consolidated school. Next door was the Christian Church and cemetery where John A. is buried. John A. moved to Freetown with his 2nd. wife Annie, but several years later John A. and Annie parted company and he returned to Tryon . John A. and Annie had no children. John A.
