Elizabeth Morley , b. 20 Sept 1775, d. 21 Sept 1857, bur. United Cem., daughter of Charles Morley and Isabella Rogers . See Leard history. George and Elizabeth lived at Tryon until they moved with their family to Cape Traverse . Their homestead was owned by a great-great- grandson, Wallace Muttart, in 1980. Brought up a Roman Catholic , George Muttart was for a time a lay reader appointed by the priest to read the service prayers in the homes of the faithful at Tryon and vicinity. However, he was converted to Protestantism by Nathaniel Wright in 1793-94. George and his eldest son, Charles, joined the Wesleyan Methodist Church in 1815. The remaining children, with the exception of William, followed his example. George Mortart and Elizabeth Morley had 10 children: Charles b. 11 June 1798, d.June 1855, m. 1 Jan 1823 Margaret Leard , b. March 1804, d. Dec 1871, daughter of John Brick Leard and Jane Lord .
