Port Elgin, NB, daughter of Hubert Thompson and Margaret MacWilliams. See Thomson history. Charles 2nd. m. Ethel Gertrude Waugh Howatt, b. 23 Aug 1881, d. 1 Aug 1965. They had no children.

Charles lived in North Tryon, on the main road, close to the first location of the school and worked for J.F.Lord in his store. He then moved to a farm on the Lower Tryon road between what are now the Vernon Walsh and Ruth Standish farms.
