Gordon Thomson , before being purchased by Russell and Minnie. This house was across the brook and has been demolished. It was in this house that most of the Russell Thomson children were born. The second house on the farm was built by Thomas Dawson . This house was moved by Arthur Dawson to the northwest side of his double house where Wendell and Alma Lea resided. It was purchased and moved by Alex Dawson after WW II. The third house, where the Thomsons now live, was also built by Thomas Dawson . Thomas' son, Howatt, inherited the house and folĀ¬ lowing Howatt's death and his wife's death, their son, Reggie, sold the house to William Callbeck . James Dawson , also a son of Thomas, lived in the house before he moved to the present Steven Thomson house. James' son, Arthur and his wife, Winnie, lived in the house, until Arthur built his new house where Arthur and Glen Thomson live in 1992. William Callbeck and his wife, Margaret Lowther , lived in the house until Russell Thomson purchased it in 1938. Russell was one of the community's well organized and proficient farmers. He had a mixed farming operation. He was a strong supporter of the Progressive Conservative party and both he and Minnie were members of the North Tryon Presbyterian Church. Following Russell's early death from cancer, Minnie continued to run the farm with the help of her sons. She is still assisting in 1992. Minnie is a Life Member of the North Tryon Women's Institute.
