The farm where Art and Glen lived until 1976 was owned by Henry and Elizabeth Dawson in the 18005. When Henry died in 1912, he left the farm to his grandson Wilbur Trainer. Wilbur’s aunt, Ida Dawson, taught school in North Tryon and lived in part of the house. Merritt and Lavina Dawson bought the farm some time later but never lived in the house. Ida’s brother, Edwin Dawson, and his wife, Mamie, rented the house for a few years. Their daughter, Margaret, and her husband,
