Lillian and George live in East Royalty where George was employed with the provincial government after he returned from WW II. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy.

Bert and Shirley lived most of their married life in Bert’s grandfather Charles Dawson’s house. This house was built in 1895 for the Dawson family when Charles was the buttermaker in North Tryon. Charles and Mac sold their house to James and Annie Dawson when Charles went to work in the Butter Factory in Cherry Valley. Mae MacKinnon Dawson and her children moved to Tryon to live with Mae’s elderly mother at that time. James and Annie sold the house to Gus and Hattie Waddell in the 19205. Bert and Shirley bought the house and farm from the Waddell’s in 1947 and remained their until they retired in 1991 and moved to Augustine Cove. Bert and Shirley sold their house and farm to Bert’s nephew, Steven Thomson, and his wife, Linda Robblee. Bert farmed for many years, and worked for the provincial Department of
