became the owner of the home farm,Campsie, when his father died 21 June 1948. He carried on a mixed farming operation and specialized in the rais¬ ing of pure bred holsteins, poultry, and pigs on gov¬ ernment test. Archie and Ethel renovated the farm house in 1949,making a deeper storage cellar for potatoes and adding a sun porch, a washroom, and an entrance. Bruce Gamble was the carpenter. Poor health forced Ar ¬ chie to leave the farm in 1957. He accepted a posi¬ tion as accountant with Eric Robinson Inc . in Albany af¬ ter convalescing from tu¬ berculosis. He was also an insurance agent for George Peake and A.R. Mclnnis Ltd. of Charlottetown for many years. Archie was a member of True Brother's Masonic Lodge AF & AM where he was a 33rd. degree Mason.
