A report was published in the local newspaper dated August 29 with no year given but a friend told me that it would be from the early 1900's. Here is a quote from it: A large and enthusiastic temperance meeting was held in Canoe Cove Hall, Mr John W. McFadyen acting as chairman. Grand Scribe J.F. Profitt , Hampton, then delivered a lengthy and eloquent address, after which a Divison of The Order of the Sons of Temperance was durly organized to be known as Harvest Divison No. 269.
