RODERICK J. MACDONALD, M. D., a lead- ing and well known member of his profes- sion at St. Peter's Bay, Kings county, was born at Mount Stewart, Prince Edward Is- land, and is a son of ”Ronald and Jean (Mac- donald) Macdonald. The father was also born at Mount Stewart, engaged in ship building and farming during his active years, and his death occurred in 1888, at the age of sixty-seven years. The paternal grandfather, Ronald Macdonald, Sr., was born at Tracadie, Prince Edward Island, and the great-grandfather, also named Ron- ald, came from Garaheila, Invemess, Scot- land, and was of the clan Ronald. He came to Prince Edward Island in I772 with Capt. John Macdonald’s colony. The sub- ject's mother bore the maiden name of Jean Macdonald and she is a daughter of Rod- erick and Ellen (Macdonald) Macdonald, of Cherry Valley, Prince Edward Island, the father being a native of Scotland. To Ronald and Jean Macdonald were born the

following children: Ronald, of Philadel- phia, Pennsylvania; D. J. U. lives on the homestead farm at Mount Stewart; Alex lives at .Revelstoke, British Columbia; George, of Revelstoke.
Roderick J. Macdonald secured his ele- mentary education in the diStrict schools of his neighborhood and at St. Dunstan’s College and Prince of Wales College, Char- lottetown. and secured his technical educa- tion in the medical department of Trinity University, at Toronto. Upon the comple- tion of his professional education the Doctor located at St. Peter’s Bay, where he has since been actively engaged in the practice. He has a thorough knowledge of the heal- ing art and keeps in close touch with the latest advances in the science. He possesses a sympathy and a genial disposition which go far to gain the confidence of the patient and thus materially assist in the return of health. In politics Mr. Macdonald is a' Conservative and in religion is a member of St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic church.
Doctor Macdonald married Miss Jose- phine Macdonald, a daughter of A. C. Mac- donald, ex—member of the Canadian Parlia- ment, and to them have been born the fol- lowing children: Alycia, Colin, Somerled, George, Roderick and Jean.
ALEX STEWART MORSON, who Operates the mills at Upton and stands high in the community as a public spirited citizen, was born at Hamilton, Prince Edward Island, and is a son of Richard W. and Elizabeth (Cody) Morson. He received his education in the district schools of the'locality and was reared to the life of a farmer, which vocation he pursued with gratifying success. In 1866
