In June, 1877, Judge Macleod married Miss Adele Hayden, a native of this Is- land, and a daughter of James Hayden, a successful merchant at Vernon River. To this union have been born the following chil- dren: Arthur, now in Texas; Adele, in Pennsylvania; Flora, in Virginia; Jennie, a student in Acadia College, Nova Scotia; Marie, attending school; Dorothy and Mary.
ANGUS A. MCLELLAN, M. D., a success- ful and well known physician at Summer- side, was born at Grand River, Lot 14, Prince Edward Island, on October I I, 1860, and is a son of Donald and Margaret (Mc~
Dougald) McLellan, natives of the same‘
place. The paternal grandfather, Angus McLellan, was a native of Scotland, but emigrated to Grand River, where he suc- cessfully followed farming during the re- mainder of his life. His son Donald, the subject’s father, remained on the original homestead during his active years and is now residing with his son, Father McLel- lan, at St. Andrew’s, Prince Edward Island. To him and his wife were born five chil- dren, namely: John, an engineer at Gaspe, Quebec; James H., M. D., who died in March, 1904, at the age of fifty—four years; Mary, now Mrs. John McDonald, of Mount Stewart, Prince Edward Island; A. P. (Father McLellan), at St. Andrew's, this Island; and Angus A., the subject of this sketch.
Angus A. McLellan received his early education in the public schools at Grand River, and then attended the high school at
Summerside and Prince of Wales College,

Charlottetown. During the following five years he was engaged in teaching school, and then, determining to adopt the medical profession, he entered McGill University, where he graduated in 1889, and that same year he represented his class ta Toronto. He then returned to Prince Edward Island and began the active practice at Souris, where he did a successful business until the death of his brother at Summerside, when he as- sumed the latter’s practice, removing to that place. In 1891 the Doctor took a post- graduate course in the Post-graduate Medi- cal College, New York City. He keeps in close touch with the latest advances in his profession and has been successful to a very marked degree in his practice. Of many fine personal qualities and pleasing address, the Doctor has won many friends since locating at Summerside.
On September 16, 1890, Doctor McLellan was united in marriage to Miss Mary Ellen Dempsey, of Summerside, a daughter of Matthew Dempsey, and to them have been born six. children, namely: Lorne, Elmer, Everard, Lister, Hazen and Alberta. The Doctor is a member of the Prince Edward Island Medical Association, and also be- longs to the Independent Order of Forest- ers, the Catholic Mutual Benefit Association and Knights of Columbus.
