practical experience and enjoys a splendid reputation among those who know him best. In politics he gives his support to the Conservative party, though not an aspir- ant for public office. .
Mr. McDonald married Miss Mary Fin- layson, of Point Prim, a daughter of Alex and Fanny (Gillis) F inlayson, and to them have been born the following children: Etta and Fanny, of Boston, Massachusetts; Rod- erick, \Villiam, May Laura, Angus and John. at home.
ALBERT C. SAUNDERS, a prominent and well known young attorney of Summerside, was born in this city on October 12, 1874, and is a son of Charles B. and Margaret (McKenzie) Saunders, the father a native of Devonshire, England, and the mother of Aberdeen, Scotland. The paternal grand- father came from England to Prince Ed- ward Island in about 1832 and located with his family near Milton, where he remained during the remainder of his life, having fol- lowed agricultural pursuits. The subject's father engaged in harnessmaking in Char- lottetown, Stanley Bridge and Summerside, and did a very extensive business, employing twenty-five men at times, while in addition to his provincial trade he furnished large quantities of harness to the lumbermen of New Brunswick. During the life of the Canada Temperance Act Mr. Saunders was appointed vender, which position he held for ten years. He retired from the harness business in about 1889, and his death oc- curred in 1897. He took an active interest in political matters and was held in high esteem.

lege, and then entered upon the study of law with J. Edward Wyatt. After about two and a half years he removed to Charlotte- town and entered the oflice of Peters, Peters & Ings, and on October 3, 1899, he was admitted as an attorney, being admitted as a barrister in October of the following year. He then entered upon the active practice at Summerside as the junior partner in the firm of Peters, Ings & Saunders, and has from the beginning enjoyed a large clientage. He is a close student of the law, keeps in touch with the latest legal decisions and has met with distinctive success. His genuine worth and pleasing personality have won him many friends and he is liked by all who know him. He has taken an active part in matters polit- ical and has been tendered several nomina- tions, though he has not consented to stand for any public office. Mr. Saunders has for years given attention to athletic matters, be- ing active in hockey, foot-ball and bicycling, in which he has won honors. His fraternal relations are with the Sons of England, the Royal Arcanum and the Independent Order of Foresters.
On December 23, 1902, Mr. Saunders was married to Miss Leila Zwiker Graves, a daughter of Albert Martin Graves, of New

children, Desdemona and Reginald.
