PAGE 3 to the Murray Harbour --Little Sands pastoral charge until 1955. During these years the ministers were: Rev. Roy E . Vessey, Rev. Wallace MacPherson and Rev. Harry MacDougall . In 1955, with another reorganization of the pastoral charges, and the Belfast (Eldon) Church no longer operating, St. Andrew's in Belle River became a part of the Valleyfield-Orwell Head charge with Rev. A. C. Fraser (father of Rev. James A . Fraser) as minister. Rev. Mr. Fraser was followed in July, 1955, by Rev. Farquhar MacKinnon (brother-in-law of Bruce Pippy ), who ministered to this charge until July, 1961, and was, in turn followed by Rev. Graham Fraser who resigned in 1965. At this time another change took place with the consolidation of churches in progress, Valleyfield became a part of the Montague charge and Belle River returned to the Murray River - Murray Harbour charge with Rev. Herbert Chapman as minister. When Rev. Mr. Chapman resigned to devote full time to welfare work, he was followed by Rev. John Pov /ell in 1969. With St. Andrew's added, this charge now consisted of four churches. Rev. Anthony Ware was the last minister who served St. Andrew's from the Murray Harbour --Little Sands pastoral charges. His ministry lasted only a very short time, as the last services were held in late November and early December, 1979. These ministers, each in his own way, laboured for the glory of God and the spiritual well-being of the people they were called to serve.
