The Young People's Group was very active. Their meetings were held in the homes. Women's Missionary Society played a great role in the life of the congregation.
Only one wedding was held in the United Church—-Elva Dougherty married Lyle Parkman on November 12, 1960, with Rev. John Sheen officiating.
Not to be forgotten are the 12 young men and women who served their country well in World Wars I and II and the Korean War. Mrs. Ruby Macwilliams remembers attending a memorial service for Manson Murchison‘s brother Neil, who was killed overseas.
Although the Eldon United Church is now owned by the Masons, through their work, they still maintain the high standard for which it was built. Masonry teaches fatherhood of God, Brotherhood of
Man, based on a system of moral living.
