ENGLEWOOD 1 As the people of Crapaud and surrounding districts felt that their young people would stand a better chance of getting a good education, they began considering ways and means of having our own high school. Different meetings were held to discuss exactly what was wanted, and where the school should be located, and, finally on June 8, 1961, after many meetings with the Government, permission was granted by the Lieutenant Governor to establish a Regional High School to serve the Crapaud- Tryon area. The first meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Crapaud- Tryon Regional High School area was held on June 12, 1961. Nine out of ten school districts were represented. Following is a list of the trustees who were elected by each participating school district to represent it and whose aim would be to establish a Regional High School in this area.
