TO LIVE IN PRINCE COUNTY OR QUEENS COUNTY—VILLA RESIDENTS HAVE A CHOICE A new 52-bed Community Care Facility lies clearly within the boundaries of Crapaud , but just what county—Prince or Queens, is it located ? Believe it or not, it's in both counties! And that's no coincidence. "It was designed that way," says Ronald Dawson , who, along with his father, Robert N. Dawson of Crapaud , and Ray Brow of Charlottetown are constructing the privately owned Villa in Crapaud 's Development. An impressive 286-foot-long structure featuring a common area, flanked by two, 120-foot wings, the Villa is scheduled to open Jan 10, 1991. Ronald Dawson said dividing the new facility evenly between Prince and Queens Counties will have certain advantages. "There may be a resident who feels he's never going to move out of one county or the other," he said, adding the Villa will allow him the flexi¬ bility he needs to continue living in the county of his choice. There may also be advantages concerning licensing in one county or the other, and at election time, the Villa could be used for a pol¬ ling station in each county. "It's a nice, quiet setting," Dawson said in explaining how this location came to be chosen. "Sun is on some part of the build¬ ing all day long, and there's a nice view." There will be nine apartments in the ground level that can be rented by staff or other individuals. An allowance has been made for an elevator shaft, and plans are already in the works for a nurs¬ ing wing to be added at a later date. » 56 j
