George Brown retired to Charlottetown in 1934, and his son Edwin carried on the family farm. They have four children:
Barbara Ruth married Dr. Raymond Sullivan of Wales and they re— side in California, U.S.A.
Constance married Melvin Reeves, Freetown. Ronalda married John Clark, Kensington. Beverly married Don Stewart, Charlottetown.
Ralph Howard
Robert Howard settled on this 50 acre farm in the early 80’s, cleared the land, built a log house and raised a family of four sons and four daugh- ters. He was a plasterer by trade, as well as a farmer. His youngest son, William Meek, took over the farm with his wife Adelaide Cook. They had five sons and two daughters. One of the sons William Chester followed his father on the farm. He and his wife Elsie Mayhew had a family of three. Ralph, Marian (Mrs. Ralph Johnstone, Long River), Eileen (Mrs. Harold Profitt) Margate. The present owner Ralph MacKay Howard is the fourth generation of the name on the same farm. He and his wife Vera Rogers, Indian River have three children, Faye (Mrs. Wendell How- att lives in French River), Linda and David are continuing their education.
Andrew Johnson
John Johnson was born in Ireland in 1882 and settled on the Johnson Homestead in 1831. He married Ellen Woodside, Malpeque and had a family of four children. Their son Andrew stayed on the family farm, continued to farm and married Sarah Delaney of Irishtown. Their family James married Celia Grady Summerside, was a carpenter and lived in Vancouver, B.C. Will lived on a farm near by. He married Pearl Stav- ert, Kelvin. Winnie, Mrs. Stanley Caseley, lived on Irishtown Road. Later married George Duggan, Kensington. Selina was organist in Mar- gate church for many years, she lived with her brother John and family. He married Sadie Paynter, Black Horse Corner. They have four children: Louise (Mrs. Clarence Marchbank, Traveller’s Rest) ; Evelyn (Mrs. Keith Warren lives on the farm formerly owned by her uncle Will Johnson); Amy (Mrs. Arthur Johnstone, Summerside); Andrew farms the home- stead. He married Enid Champion, Kensington and lived in the bungalow on the farm until his father retired. He then built a new home on the old site in 1953. The original old house was moved to Kensington on the Mar- gate Road and made into two houses.
Andrew’s family are: Edwin, Douglas, Erwin, (mentioned else- where) Andrea, R.N. (Mrs. Stewart Morrison, Summerside) ; and Shannon at home.
