Fred passed away some years ago, and his wife Lila and son Dun- can, reside on the home place, and operate the farm.

William Durant

Mr. Samuel Durant, Sr., and his wife Sally Harding Durant owned land consisting of 234 acres. The land was divided by them, between tw0 sons, Samuel Jr., and John C., with 117 acres each.

Samuel Jr. lived on the homestead and married Zetilla Tuplin of Indian River. Their family were:

Anne, Jane, Lottie, Harry, Heath and Ruth.

After Heath’s wife died he moved from his home on the Creek» Road along with his son William and his wife Elaine Graham of Sea View to this home.

Their family are: - Roger, Linda, Brendon and Deborah.

John Henderson

This property was owned by James Glover in 1880. He sold it to Alfred Mayhew and wife Catherine MacKay Mayhew. The Mayhews were blessed with four of their family while living here:

Ruth, Hazel, Elsie and Harold.

The property was later sold to Mr. Thomas Mountain and his wife Mary Woodside. Their children were:

Katherine, Beatrice, Mary, Ellen, Elizabeth and Johnson.

In 1946 John Henderson, Margate married Eunice Campbell of Long River and at this time they bought this property. Their family are:

Gregg at home. Janet —— Mrs. Wayne Clark of Kelvin. Joy at home.

Mrs. John McGuirk

James McGuirk came from Ireland and procured property from David Sheehan Sr. here. His son Patrick McGuirk married Mary Ann Young of Coleman, P.E.I. They had the following sons and daughters:

Harland, who married Minnie Sullivan, Clinton; John, who married Gertie Sheehan, Margate; Harry who married Ruth Hughes, Kensington;
