They lived in a log house in the field across the road from where John Moase now lives.

From John’s marriage to a school teacher, Catherine Glover, there were seven children. Catherine, died in 1842, aged 47 years. He later mar- ried Mary Neil, who outlived him for many years and is buried in St. Mark’s Cemetery, Kensington. He died about 1850 at Bagnall’s Inn on his way home from Charlottetown.

They had the following children: Christopher, Alexander, Robert, Adam, James, Joanne and Margaret.

Christopher went to live in Australia, and he died there. Alex- exander, Robert and Adam as young men went to Ontario to live. Later Alexander went to Minnesota. Robert to Idaho and Adam to Saskatchewan. James emigrated to Portsmouth, New Hampshire about 1850. He was a stonecutter by trade.
