Hodgson and son of Chief Justice Robert Hodgson of Charlottetown , as Bishop's Chaplain to St. Peter 's Chapel probably in May of 1869. The first services held in the new church took place on June 13th, of that same year, and the building was officially opened on August 22nd. An advertisement appeared in The Examiner, in advance of the first service announcing times for the services and welcoming all those wishing to attend. The Advertisement set out that: St. Peter 's Church, , will ( D.V .) be opened for Divine Service, on Sunday next 13th. The Services of that day, and on every Sunday following until further notice, will be - Holy Communion, 8 a.m. Morning Prayer: Litany and Sermon, 11 a.m. Evening Prayer 7p.m. All the sittings in the Church are free.19 17.
