The Lord Bishop also visited Cherry Valley and confirmed 24 candidates there. A large new vestry was added after the Bishop’s visit and a festival was held at Church Point during August to raise money for the {purchase of an organ, which was to be installed prior to the conclusion of the year. Services there were held regularly except when the conditions of the road rendered travel impossible. Information concerning the recent arrival of a colony of 15 families from Newfoundlan d who had s e t t l e d i n M u r r a y Harbor was brought to the attention of the Reverend Mr. Lloyd.
