The Question of Women "Voting" at Church Meetings.

In January, at the Annual Congregational Meeting on the 28th, Canon Simpson introduced the question of women voting at Church meetings. After a discussion, Mr. Morson moved a motion, seconded by Mr. Cotton, "That His Grace the Archbishop be requested to take steps to amend the Church Act to allow women voting at Church Meetings."202 This motion was carried and a letter bearing the resolution was drafted and subsequently forwarded to the Archbishop. The question was raised by Mr. Justice Haszard which discussed the matter prior to passing a Resolution:

in this Province. 203

The passing of the resolution was followed by a motion by Mr. Percy Pope, to have the Church Act amended in accordance with the above resolution. This

motion was also carried.

Canon Simpson saw the year as the most eventful one in the modern world with its Armistice and Peace. His optimism extended into the future in regard to the lessons learned during the conflict and the personal sacrifice
