and Jon. Willis MacLean bought the property in 1968. He is married to the former Dorothy Monkley and they have two children, Bruce and Stewart.

LAWRENCE (LARRY) YEO Thisfarmland was first owned by Samuel Yeo (1812—1874), who married Nancy Prowse (1814—1894). Samuel came here with his wife from Devonshire, England. He was a Cobbler by trade.

Family of Samuel and Nancy were Elizabeth, 1835 died at birth. James 1836—1916. William 1839—1893. John 1841—1918. Thomas Charles Prowse 1844—1918. Angelina 1845-1927. Lawrence 1846—1920. Titus 1850- 1923. Jabez 1852-. Richard Henry 1854. Lewis Albert 1855. George 1859- 1923. Alice, adopted. Jennie, adopted. Daniel Boundy married Samuel’s daughter Angelina and built'the home now occupied by Larry and his wife Elizabeth. Lawrence, son of Samuel, bought the home from Daniel and Angelina, but all his family except the youngest daughter were born in a farm home directly across the road. This old house has since been torn down. Lawrence married Sarah Birch of Port Hill. Their family were: Frank, married Sadie Lyle; after her death he married Pearl Clark. Eva, Mrs. Leonard Pickering of St. Eleanors. Edward, married Loretta Yeo. Garfield, married Campsie MacLaurin of Belmont. Lewis, died in infancy. Irene, married George Thomas. Birchfield, married Annie Monkley of Birch Hill. Jennie Blanche, died at 4 years. Muriel, married Ralph Compton of St. Eleanors. The farm was bequeathed to Birchfield, and he continued a mixed farming operation until his retirement, when he moved to St. Eleanors and built a new home there. He was the first on P.E.l. to receive an award and be admitted to-the status of Robertson Associate Member of the Canadian Seed Growers Association. He died in 1966.
