Roland Best married Nina Francis from Crapaud. They own part of the James Farrell Farm, acquiring it from Lawrence Farrell, son of James. Family of Roland and Nina are: Florence, married to Bernard Petitclerc;

Muriel, married to Stordy lnman; Amy, married to Douglas Embleton and Hillard.

LEIGH WINCHESTER

This property belonged to James Simmons. It passed on to his son Edward and Edward’s wife, the former Fanny Best. Their only daughter, Amy, married Arthur Francis of Fortune. The farm was next sold by Amy to John MacLeod of Belmont. John MacLeod then sold it to Alton Hutchinson, who sold the house to Leigh Winchester, but retains the land. Leigh lives in the home with his father, Preston, and mother, Lena (MacLeod). Other children of Preston and Lena are: Alma, (Morrell) now Mrs. Maclntyre of Summerside; Gloria, married Ernest lnman of Belmont; Levinia (Bea) married Eric MacAusland, living in Lot 16; ‘Keith, married Patsy Gillis of Birch Hill. They reside in Summerside, and Gordon, married to Janet Myers of Miscouche. They live in Summerside.

THANE AND SHIRLEY BARLOW

The land this home stands on was bought by Alexander Miller from a Mr. Rogers in 1876. It next passed to his son William, who married Florence Gardiner. (Detailed info. on the Millar family elsewhere in this book). After William’s death the holding was passed on to their daughter Hazel in

1961, who sold it to Darrell Lyle. The present day house was built in 1928. In 1971 Darrell sold the house to Thane Barlow, who had been renting it for the past seven years, and retained the farm land. Thane is married to Shirley MacArthur from Tyne Valley and they have one child, Shane, born in 1970.

MRS. GERALD YEO.

Lives in the home built in 1912 by Garfield Yeo, son of Lawrence, who married Campsie MacLaurin from Belmont. Family of Campsie and Gar— field are: Byron — married Ethel Ramsay of Belmont. Their children are Dale, now living in Belmont, and Judy, married to Louis Gallant and now living in Ontario. Gerald - married Muriel Stewart of Hamilton. Their family are - Stewart, (married Susan Gallant of Miscouche), Fay, and Donna at home. Gerald passed away in 1968 and his widow, Muriel, occupies the homestead. The greater part of the farmland has been sold to Darrell Lyle. Jessie — married Lloyd Smith of Moncton, and they now reside in Moncton. Their children are Sharon, married Richard Dunphy of Moncton, and Nancy, at home. I
