CHANNING COUGHLIN
Charming Coughlin and his wife, the former Ada MacLaurin, bought this landfrom Edward Miller. Their family are: Betty, married Emmett Yeo;
since divorced and remarried to Alois Klim and now living in VanCOUVer. Family are Debbie and Gary. Phyllis, married Russell Palmer. Family are Cheryl and Stephen. They live in Saint John, NB. Ivan, married Betty MacGregor, living in Lot 16.
ALLISON AND EDITH MACLEAN
The farm now owned by Allison and Edith MacLean was formerly owned by Andrew MacGregor, son of the late Rev. William MacGregor, the first Presbyterian Minister in this Charge. Andrew married Isabelle MacLaurin, and they had one son, William Humphrey, who farmed the land until he passedaway in 1942.
The farm was then owned and operated by his son, James A., who moved to Summerside in 1948. The farm was then operated for Mr. MacGregor by Aretus Campbell and later by Ralph Campbell. In 1957 the farm was purchased from James A. MacGregor by Allison MacLean, son of
Harold and Ella MacLean, South West Lot 16. At this time the house was rented to various families. In 1964 Allison married Edith Betton, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Betton, North St. Eleanors. Allison is involved in mixed farming with Dairy and Beef cattle and pigs. The MacLean’s have three children —'JoAnne, born 1968, Karen, 1970 and Andrew, 1974. A fourth
child, Michael James, died in infancy.
RALPH AND ALETHA CAMPBELL — Ralph Campbell, son of Charlie Campbell and his wife the former Laura Pye of Southwest Lot 16, married
‘ Aletha MacLeod of Springhill, P.E.l. They lived in Central a number ofyears,
and their children, Joan and Blair, on the Birchfield Yeo farm, and the James MacGregor farm. They now reside in Massachusetts, where Ralph is
foreman on a large Dairy Farm.
. ARETUS AND LINA CAMPBELL - Aretus Campbell, son of Donald Campbell and the former Lina Birch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Birch of Southwest Lot 16, lived in Central many years, on the Birchfield Yeo and James MacGregor farms. Their family are Annie, married to Ernest Hardy, Summerside East; Devona,_married Roy Stavert of Kelvin; Ruth, married
Wendell Phillips of Lot 14, they live in St. Eleanors, and James, married Marlene Pickering of Darnley, now living in Mass. Aretus and Lina now
reside in St. Eleanors.
MR. AND MRS. HARRY CURTIS, both now deceased, moved here from Wilmot Valley on their retirement and built a new home, on the WP. Miller farm, (Jean Miller was their only daughter) and’lived there the remainder
of their lives. .24
