Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Murray, St. Lawrence, Prince Edward Island, Mrs. Murray being the former Joan Dalton, Burton. The Murrays have tWo sons,
Clifford and Gene.
WAYNE MUIRHEAD - This property was formerly owned by Henry Chinnick. His wife was daughter of John Bell, Grand River. The Chinnicks brought up Sarah MacMaster who married Hugh Hutchinson, and they lived here. Family: John, died in infancy; Grace, Alice, Archie, Mary, Annie May, and Wiliam who married Edith Hollingshead from England. Their family: Archie m. Gena Waugh; Dorothy m..Wilfred MacLeod; Margaret m. Wilfred Hutchinson; Drucilla m. Garnet Affleck whose sons Derrick, R.C.M.P. m. Jeannie Wright and Terry m. Vicki MacDonald. Archie and Gena lived here for a while, then sold to Robert Betton and wife, formerly Jennie MacLaurin, Family: Edith m. Allison MacLean; Robert m. Gail Steele, lives in St. Eleanors; Ruth m. Douglas Millar. The Bettons sold to Wayne Muirhead and wife, formerly'Janet Gordon. Family: Kendric and
Glendon.
WENDELL BIRCH - Allan MacLeod, formerly from Scotland. m. Catherine MacLeod, was the first owner of this property. Family were John, Jessie, Phoebe, Christine, Lavinia. John married Louise Ryder, stayed on the farm. Their family, Oliver, Major, Wilfred, John, Norman, Lena, and Lavinia (deceased). In the early 1900’s, Oliver and wife Leta stayed on the farm, and the rest of the family moved to Belmont. Oliver MacLeod sold the
farm to Ray Farrell, who sold to.WENDELL BIRCH, and it is rented to Carr- ‘ Farms.
WILFRED MacLEOD, son of John MacLeod, married Dorothy Hut:
chinson, and built a home on land bought from Wilfred Hutchinson. Family: Clarence (deceased). Joyce, Lily, and Ronald. Joyce married Floyd MacKinnon, Belmont. Lily m. Ronald Ronahan. Ronald m. Gail MacMillan, and they live in‘Miscouche. , ‘
KIRK PROPERTY, Owned- By Carr Farms: Nicholas Power owned this land and sold to James Kirk from Dumfries, Scotland. He married Catherine
MacRae. Family: Robert, Elizabeth, Catherine, Agnes, Ellen, Margaret, David. David Was a carpenter and lived in Summerside. He rebuilt the Presbyterian Church, Lot 16, (now United Church of Canada) in 1876. Robert’s wife was Rose Crosgrove: Family: Sophia, Mary, James, Edward, Lydia, Bessie. Robert’s son James made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Alexander MacLean, Southwest Lot 16. He now lives in Vancouver. The Kirk property was sold to David Lecky, who later sold to Loring Rayner, who sold to Gordon Campbell, who in turn sold to Carr Farms.
