Guy Pierce

Guy was born in Brackley, in I907, the son of Hammond and Maude (Jackson) Pierce of Brackley. Hammond resided on the old homestead, the deed to which his father William Pierce, obtained clear title of in 1896. Guy later obtained this property and farmed it for 55 years. In 1944, he married Bertha Lord, R.N., who is actively involved in community affairs. She is the first president of the Women’s Institute. She also serves her church through the U.C.W. She and Guy have one daughter, Helen Maureen. She is married to Willard Nicholson, a salesman at Bagnall’s Mills. They have two

children: Katherine 2 and Andrew I year.

Guy is commonly known as Mr. Fix-it, by the people of Brackley. For years he was a welder, amateur vet, farmer, amateur mechanic and fox skinner. He also managed his own fox ranch in the early 30’s.
