and sold it to William F. Auld in 1919. Records also show that Peter Reeves sold land (46 ac.) to James Arbing in 1905.
James was b. 13 Apr. 1851. He m. 1. Hannah Matthews, a sister of Samuel Matthews. She d. 28 June 1883, a victim of a drowning accident at New Annan. It is believed that he m. 2. Margaret Reeves from Freetown, and that she d. in Roxbury, Mass. in Dec. 1934. They had three children: 1. Lilla, 3. Martha and 3. Guy.

William Arbing was b. in 1853 and d. in Sept. 1936. He m. Dorcas Picketts of Wilmot Valley, 17 June 1884. She was b. in 1865 and d. in 1909. They moved to North Berwick, Me. where they died. They had one daughter Ruby b. 1885 m. Frank Grant. She d. in 1946. They had no family.

Abraham Wall sold 47 1/2 acres (code 130) along the Wall Road to Randolph Arbing 1897. In 1909, he bought 102‘/2 acres from Samuel Drummond. He also sold 15 acres of land to Christopher Cairns in 1909. In 1920, he bought a lot in Freetown Village and moved a house from Taylors on the North Freetown Road
to this lot. They resided there for many years. They attended the Methodist Church.
Randolph was b. 4 Apr. 1857 and In. Margaret Jean Stetson b. in 1867. Randolph d. 7 May 1925 age 68 and Margaret Jean (1. 17 June 1941. They had three children: 1. Frank Percy b. 1895 and d. 7 Apr. 1909 age 14 years and 11 months. 2. Amy Urema b. 1889, d. 7 Mar. 1965 age 76 bur. in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. She worked as a clerk in Auld’s store in Freetown for many years. 3. Dell b. 1896 m. Henry Miller, who lived in Freetown for a few years. They now reside in Huntsville, Ont.
+2j Rudolph Arbing . .
Rudolph went to the United States early in life. He returned to Freetown to farm. It is believed that Rudolph farmed on the property where Milton Drummond resides in 1984 (code 129) as land records reveal that Mary Arbing sold this farm to Thomas Hammill in 1900.
Rudolph was b. 4 Apr. 1859. He went to the United States, and while there he m. Mary Stetson a native of Freetown. They both returned to Freetown in 1891 where it is believed he farmed with his father. Rudolph d. of appendicitis in 1898 leaving his wife with two small children and expecting her third.
Rudolph and Mary (Stetson) Arbing had three children, surname Arbing.
3a 2j Harry b. 1 Nov. 1892. He m. Harriet Dignan and they had three children. 1. Leone b. 18 Oct. 1920, she m. Everett Rix and had six children. 2. R. Leith b. 13 July 1922 m. Wanda MacLean, a teacher living in Woodstock. 3. Shirley b. 14 Dec. 1918. She m. Earl Jollimore Lr. Sackville, NS. and they have four girls.
3b 2j Nellie. n.m. She looked after her mother who was bedfast for years.
So 2j Roy b. 6 Mar. 1899. Roy m. Edith MacPhee. They had one son Jack who lives in Scarborough, Ont. Roy and his son both had musical ability.
ARSENAULT
Réné Arsenault, Wilfred Arsenault and Clarence Arsenault were three brothers from St. Raphael who spent several years being employed in the Freetown area. They were sons of Mr. and Mrs. Donat Arsenault of St. Raphael. They were all first class farm labourers.
Réné probably spent the least time in Freetown but he worked on the farms of Cecil Reeves and Robert J ardine for several years at potato picking. Réné is now married and residing in Burlington, Ont. but working in Mississauga. He has two ch.: a boy and a girl.
Wilfred spent about nine years in Freetown. He worked with Cecil Reeves, Robert Jardine, Leonard
McCarville, Alfred Reeves, Austin Scales and others. He now resides in St. John, N.B., where he has been employed for many years. He is m. and has a family of nine children.
Clarence worked for Cecil Reeves and Robert J ardine. In 1985, he owns his own farm in Piusville and is a progressive farmer. He is m. and has two sons. Mrs. Arsenault is a custodian at Westisle School in Elmsdale.
Andrew Arsenault Andrew Arsenault came to Freetown in 1929 where he worked with George D. J ardine for about a year.
