Another of John’s family above was Annie Bernard who m. John Bernard, a son of William and a
grandson of Samuel Bernard, who had two daughters and one son. One daughter, Adelaide, (1878-1943), m. George Godfrey Paynter. (See Paynter history.)
Daniel was b. in 1885 in Long River. He m. Bessie Delaney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Delaney
of lrishtown, she was b. 10 July 1885. Bessie worked in USA. for many years and then returned to Irishtown. They had seven children, five of whom were born in Irishtown and two in Freetown.
They left Irishtown ca. 1916 and moved to Freetown where they bought the farm that was formerly
occupied by Caleb Schurman (code 6). Dan was active in the community. He was a member of the Orange Lodge and a Secretary of the Dunk River Farmers Institute for several years. He and Bessie brought their family up in the Presbyterian faith and were regular attendents at Freetown Presbyterian Church. Bessie d. 28 Dec. 1960 and Daniel d. in 1970.

Donald b. 8 Sept. 1908 at Irishtown. He m. Amy Paynter of Freetown. She was b. 26 July 1912. They lived in Freetown.
Angus b. 15 June 1910 at Irishtown. He m. 1. Jane Clarke. 2. Norma Bourgaize. They lived in Westmount, Que.
Helen b. 6 Jan. 1913 at Irishtown. She m. 1. Fred Taylor. They lived in Granville. He d. in 1964. They had four sons and four daughters. 1. Blaine, 2. Geraldine m. Lowell Andrews, 3. Erma 4. William, 5. Clayton, 6. Myron, 7. Heather, 8. Ferne.
Gladys b. 9 Oct. 1914 at Irishtown. She m. John Paynter. They resided in Freetown. (See Paynter history.)
Walter b. 29 Mar. 1916 at Irishtown. He m. Rhoda Cobb. They have no family. They resided in Freetown for some years, then they moved to Halifax, NS where Walter was employed. Later they returned to Freetown where they purchased a farm (code 52). They have now sold this farm and retained a parcel of land on the South West corner of it, on which they built a new home where they presently reside. Walter continues to work as a carpenter.
