She was b. 26 July 1909. Ralph grew up in Lower Freetown and in 1923 went to U.S.A . to find employment. In 1927 he went to on a Harvest Excursion, an expedition which attracted a number of young men at that time. It was in 1930 that he returned to P.E.I , to work on the home farm. Ralph inherited this farm at his fathers death, and in 1985 is still looking after the buildings and garden. This farm has been in the Burns family for one hundred and seventy-five years. She d. 11 Mar. 1914, aet. 80 yrs. George lived in Lower Freetown , all his life. He operated a mixed farm (code 60), on land previously owned by his father, but, he had a talent for wood working, and made many of the implements used on a farm, such as wagons and other items. George and his wife 'Bess' managed the Lower Freetown Post Office, until a change of government relieved them of this opportunity. 216
