She was b. 25 Dec. 1876; d. 11 Apr. 1970. As a young man, Russell helped his father on the farm and during the winter months, he went to Maine , U.S.A. and was employed as a factory worker. In Freetown, he took part in community affairs, was a participant in church activities, and a choir member for many years. Russell inherited the family farm at the death of his father and he continued the farm operation until ill health forced him to retire. He sold the farm to Elmer Smith in 1947.
