Joseph Henry Gaudet Joseph Henry Gaudet was b. 7 Mar. 1917 at Palmer Road, son of John J. and Mary Madeline (Perry) Gaudet, Leoville. John J. was a carpenter by trade, who cl. at the age of 98 yrs. Mary d. aet. 105.

Joseph Henry Gaudet m. Mary Edna Gallant of Peter Road who was b. 2 May 1921. They were m. 16 July 1941 at the Roman Catholic Church, Palmer Road. Mary Edna was the daughter of Sosime and Julia

(Arsenault) Gallant. Joseph Henry (1. 9 Jan. 1975 at Freetown and is buried in the Roman Catholic Cem. at Summerfield.

Joseph and Edna moved to Freetown in 1947 when Joseph worked for a number of years on the farm for Cecil Paynter. Later he bought a lot and moved the kitchen off the house that was formerly occupied by George C. Campbell (code 79). This lot is located at the intersection of the main Freetown and Dunk River Roads. Following many years working on the farm, Joseph pursued painting and carpentry as his trade until he passed away.

Joseph and Edna had five children, all surname Gaudet. They all attended school in Freetown, while Kevin and Gordon attended school in Summerside as well.

2a Nelson Henry b. 2 Jan. 1943 in Peterville. He m. Elizabeth Anne Shea 5 Oct. 1963. They have one son, Sullivan.

2b Mary Noreen b. 5 June 1945 in Leoville. She m. Leo Joseph Pineau of Hope River on 29 July 1967. They have two children: Jason b. in 1969 and Christine b. 1972.

2c Claude Joseph b. 24 July 1948 at Prince County Hospital. He m. Kathleen Foley, Portland, Conn. U.S.A. 22 May 1970. They have no children.

2d Kevin Joseph b. 29 Sept. 1952 at Prince County Hospital. He m. Margaret Leard, Crapaud, 17 July 1976. They have two children: Adam b. 1981 and Michael b. in 1984.

2e Gordon Lee b. 26 Feb. 1963 at Prince County Hospital; n.m. and lives at home in Freetown.

On the 28 June 1980, Mary Edna m. 2. Joseph Edward Perry a widower and a Veteran of the Second World War. They continue to reside in Mary Edna’s home. He was b. 10 Oct. 1914. Joseph Edward had three children from his first marriage. Raymond d. in 1957 age 14 mos., Louis b. 12 May 1962 and resides in Summerside and Wayne b. 28 Sept. 1959 and lives at home in Freetown.

William Gaudet

William Gaudet resides in the house located on the Main Freetown Road (code 52). The land is farmed at present, in 1984, by Stavert and Layton Huestis with whom William Gaudet is employed. He had worked for them before he moved to Freetown from Wilmot Valley. He had also worked for Darrell Picketts for many years prior to being employed by the Huestis’s.

William was b. 26 Apr. 1933, the son of Emmanuel and Marjorie (Perry) Gaudet. In 1956 he m. Theresa Arsenault who was b. 22 Apr. 1936, the daughter of John Peter and Bella (Gallant) Arsenault.

William and Theresa (Arsenault) Gaudet have eight children.

2a Kenneth b. 3 Mar. 1957. He m. Brenda Gallant, daughter of Chester and Miriam (Manderson) Gallant 18 Sept. 1976. They have two ch.: Jason William b. 5 Apr. 1979 and Heather b. 26 Apr. 1982.

2b Gail b. 12 June 1958. She m. Ronald Caissie, Maximville. They have two children: Joey b. 26 Jan. 1980 and Jamie b. 4 Dec. 1983.

2c Linda b. 21 Dec. 1959. 2d Edna b. 8 Apr. 1962. 2e Kathy b. 8 Nov. 1964.
