ELMER HAMILTON The farm where Elmer Hamilton resides was once occupied by Rev. Bradshaw; later it was owned by

Joseph Baker, who sold it to William Burns, and then it came into possession of his son, Bruce Burns. It was while Bruce and Ila (Reeves) Burns lived there that Elmer came to work on the farm (code 102). At their death, Elmer continued as a farmer, but has since taken on television sales and service, and for the past few years has been employed as a school bus driver for Unit 2 Regional Administrative School Board, on a route

from the Freetown area to schools in Summerside. Elmer and Joan attend the United Church in Freetown.

Elmer was b. 8 Mar. 1930 in Kensington. He m. Joan Elizabeth Duggan, Sea View, on 26 Aug. 1961 in St. Marys Anglican Church, Summerside. She was b. 8 Jan. 1939. She was the daughter of William Lester and Annabelle (Connick) Duggan. They have one daughter, Marlys Angela b. 31 Jan. 1978.

MANNY HANDRAHAN Cyprien “Manny” Handrahan moved to Freetown with his wife and family in 1929. He worked for

Austin A. Scales for most of his working days on the farm. It was said of Manny that he planted the potatoes in the straightest rows of anyone around.

Manny was b. 1888 at Tignish to James and Katherine (A’Hearn) Handrahan. He m. Susan, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Quinn) Perry of Palmer Road. Manny d. 1975 and Susan (1. 1983.

Manny and Susan (Perry) Handrahan had five children and a grandson all surname Handrahan.

2a Francis b. 1920. He m. Marion Dutka. They live in Kamloops, BC. He is retired from Kitimat Power Sta. They have six children: 1. Allan. 2. Diane. 3. Yvette. 4. Sharon. 5. Jean. 6. Elaine.

2b Stella b. 1922. She m. Reginald O’Connor, Alberton. He spent 5 years in the Cape Breton Highlanders overseas. They have six children and three grandchildren. Children: 1. Brenda. 2. Gail. 3. Marilyn. 4. Paul. 5. Brian. 6. Robbie. They live in Carleton.

2c Margaret b. 1923. She m. Norman Clow. He served in C.A.F. Overseas. He d. 1979. They had three children. (See Clow history.) Margaret is now living in Kensington. They had four grandchildren.

2d Earl b. 1924. He m. Betty Gallop of Saint John, NB. Earl works for City of Saint John and lives in Rothesay, N.B. They have seven children: 1. Wayne. 2. Bonnie. 3. Brian. 4. Lynn. 5. Terry. 6. Wade. 7. Betty Joe. Earl and Betty have nine grandchildren. Some of their children attended school in Upper

Freetown. 2e Gussie b. 1925; um. and lived in Freetown. He (1. in an automobile accident in Tignish in 1949.

3a 2c Allan b. 1942. He m. Shirley Cheverie of Kinkora. He works for London Life Insurance Co and resides in Riverview, N.B. They have two sons: 1. Chris. 2. Terry.
