+ 3g 2h George Douglas b. 31 May, 1879 and m. on 22 Sept. 1915 to Roberta Elizabeth Deacon, dau. of Marcus and Marion (Edwards) Deacon. They farmed at Freetown.

3h 2h Henrietta Jane b. in 1883 and m. 5 June 1928 to James M. Laird, a widower. They resided at Kensington.

+ 3i 2h Robert Sim Patterson b. 25 Sept. 1890 and m. 23 June 1926 to Margaret Julia Ratchford, daughter of CE. Ratchford of Amherst, N.S. Bob was a banker and insurance adjuster and resided in several

localities.

David Jardine died suddenly at his home in Upper Freetown on 21 June 1906, as the result of a heart

attack. During his life he was a successful farmer and went to the grave with the knowledge that he had been instrumental in establishing each child in his or her respective professions. His wife died several years later on 15 Oct. 1923 at her home in Freetown. She suffered from a malady known as Addison’s Disease.

+3b2h John Jardine John went to school in Freetown and Kensington. He graduated from Prince of Wales College and

received a third class teachers license on 26 June, 1890. He taught school in Wilmot Valley, Clifton and Springfield. John entered the medical department of McGill University graduating in 1900. He first took up practise at Victoria, and while there married Inez Ella Stordy, daughter of Thomas Nelson and Pauline Stordy on 8 Sept. 1903. He next practiced at Summerside and in 1916 was elected Mayor of the town.

In the spring of 1918, John and his family moved to Scott, Sask. where he continued his medical profession. John served as Mayor of Scott, and his first wife (1. there on 25 Apr. 1923. Dr. Jardine m. 2. Mary Milliken, a native of Sask. In 1934 he was elected a Liberal MLA in the government of Premier James Gardiner. Dr. J ardine passed away on 25 Apr. 1943 at Saskatoon, Sask. He and his first wife had three children, all born at Summerside, surname Jardine.

4a 3b2h Rhelda b. 26 Jan. 1907, n.m. She lives in Regina, Sask. where she worked as an office clerk.

4b 3b2h Marjorie b. 25 July 1908 and m. to George Spry on 27 Nov. 1925. They lived at Coburg, Ont. and Rochester, NY. where he d. on 22 Nov. 1961. Marjorie had two children and still resides in

Rochester, NY.

4c 3b2h Miriam b. 17 Aug. 1910, n.m. She is emotionally disturbed and resides at a nursing home in Kindersley, Sask.

+3c2h James Corrie Jardine James was b. between July and Dec. 1872. He m. in Nov. 1901 his first cousin, Henrietta Stavert (see

Stavert history). They farmed at Kelvin Grove on the Blue Shank Road on land first purchased by his father. James was an avid fox farmer and was involved in a number of fox companies. James was also involved in the Bannerman Tanton and Company Electric Light Plant established at Mill Valley in 1915.

James and Henrietta sold their farm at Kelvin Grove and moved to Kensington where they retired about 1921. Henrietta d. at Kensington on 23 Apr. 1927. James m. 2. his widowed sister-in-law, Ella (Walker) Jardine, former wife of his brother Fred.

James d. at Kensington in 1946. He had one daughter Jean by his first wife. Surname J ardine.

4a 3c2h Jean Hope b. at Kelvin Grove on 27 Dec. 1902 m. on 2 Nov. 1927 to Myron MacArthur, son of William Bradford and Anzonetta (MacGillvary) MacArthur. He was b. at Kensington 17 Nov. 1897. They lived at Kensington where he was a blacksmith, farmer, horse trainer and driver. She d. 5 Jan. 1978 at Summerside. They had two sons and a daughter: Newton, Henrietta (Mrs. Charles Waugh)

and Myron Jr.
