3b 2h Lloyd George b. 14 Oct. 1897, in Freetown. Lloyd attended Prince of Wales College. He then went to Summerside and articled with Don Stewart where he practised law. They were known as Stewart & Lewis. He became Judge of the County Court. He was also a Crown Prosecutor. He m. 26 Dec. 1925, Mildred Silliphant, Summerside. Mildred was a school teacher. They had no children. Lloyd d. 22 Oct. 1954. Mildred d. 26 Feb. 1984. They are bur. in the People’s Cem. Summerside.

+3a2h John William Lewis John was b. 22 Oct. 1889, in Freetown. He m. Jennie Schurman, dau. of Albert and Phoebe (Sproule)

Schurman, Central Bedeque, on 23 June 1915. They lived on the South Freetown Road on his father’s farm (code 66) which he named “Columario Farm”. He carried on a mixed farming operation, specializing in the growing of seed potatoes. John and his cousin, Colby Lewis, formed a partnership known as “Lewis & Lewis” potato dealers. Most of the potatoes were shipped by rail as well as some by boat for export purposes. They built a warehouse near Freetown station, in 1925, to hold 60—70 acres of potatoes.

John was a well known Ayrshire breeder and owned a herd of purebred registered cattle. They were tested on a regular basis for milk and butterfat production. Columario Geraldine was the Ayrshire Production Star in 1954, for which John received a plaque. He was a keen competitor in the show ring at the Charlottetown Exhibition and Maritime Winter Fair. Many of these prized cattle won awards. Burnside Wide Awake, the herd sire, won Grand Champion several times. John was elected President of the P.E.I. Ayrshire Breeders

Association in 1952.

He was also a fox rancher for a number of years.

John was a member of Central Bedeque United Church, and a trustee of the church for many years. He d. 25 May 1956; bur. in Central Bedeque Cem.
