GRANT MacDONALD
Grant MacDonald of North Bedeque bought the former William Taylor farm which is the first farm located in the Lower Freetown School District between the Freetown Road and the North Freetown Road (code 46). Grant bought the farm in 1978 after the death of John Taylor, son of Fred Taylor. This farm had been owned by Taylors for many generations. In 1980 Grant and Dale moved into a new home which they built near the road. Grant carries on a farm operation and is a qualified electrician. He is employed at C.F.B. Summerside on a regular basis. Dale is employed as a receptionist at MacNeill Motors Ltd. in Summerside.
Grant was b. 13 Apr. 1950 at North Bedeque the son of Ronald J. and Rosella (McGrath) MacDonald. He m. Dale Gallant, dau. of Reginald and Mary (Shields) Gallant of Summerside in the St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Summerside. Dale was b. 12 May 1951. Grant and Dale have two children.

ROBERT MacDUFF . Robert MacDuff took a lease on 100 acres on the Drummond Road, code 117. It is not known that
he ever lived there but deeds drawn up in the late 18605 refer to the MacDuff farm as boundary lines. He was from Brookfield, and later operated a mill there. He (1. 21 July 1921. It is believed that Richard Heartz took over the farm in Freetown when MacDuff released it.
ELMER MacEACHERN Elmer and Mary MacEachern came to Freetown to work for Andrew J ardine on 7 Nov. 1940. He stayed
there for seven years and then went with Walter Simmons for two years. In 1949 he started employment with Austin A. Scales where he stayed until 1969. He then became employed with Cavendish Farms where he
continued until his passing. They purchased their home in the village in 1959.
Elmer Earl MacEachern was b. 15 June 1916 in Long Creek. He m. Mary Lucinde MacDonald of Lacadena, Sask. in 1936 at Clyde River. She was b. 6 May 1920 at Lacadena. Elmer d. 23 June 1976 and is bur. in Freetown People’s Cem.
Elmer and Mary had two ch. surname MacEachern.
2a Audrey Marie b. 3 Jan. 1938 at Long Creek. She m. Wayne Hicks 15 Aug. 1964. He was b. 23 Mar. 1942 and is a retail salesman with Atlantic Wholesalers in Sackville, N.B. Audrey is an RN. and is employed at Sackville Memorial Hospital. They have three ch.: 1. Suzanne Marie b. 25 Nov. 1970. 2. Mark Wayne b. 7 Oct. 1974. 3. Heather Allana b. 14 Feb. 1978.
