Leo was b. in St. Lawrence on the 12 Feb. 1913. He was the son of George Mallett (1891-1918) and Agnes (Veno) Mallett (1891—1976). It should be noted that George Mallett d. at 27 years of age when Leo was only 5 years old. These Malletts came to St. Lawrence from Rogersville, NE. and settled on 300 acres in St. Lawrence, Lot 3.

Leo m. Elva Reeves, dau. of W. Russell Reeves of Freetown (1882-1963) and Adella “Dillie” (Curley) Reeves, on the 15 June 1935. Elva was b. 16 Apr. 1919. They attend St. James Roman Catholic Church in Summerfield.

They had five ch. and four attended school in Freetown. 2a Marilyn Ann b. 12 Feb. 1940 and d. 12 Feb. 1940.

2b Dianne Gail b. 10 Apr. 1942. She m. Arnold Driscoll, Summerside, on 17 Aug. 1963. They have four ch.: 1. Lisa Anne b. 29 July 1964. 2. Aaron Arnold b. 6 Nov. 1968. 3. Lana Marie b. 6 Aug. 1971. 4. Adam David b. 26 Oct. 1976.

2c Doreen Theresa b. 12 Oct. 1944. She m. Kenneth Gunn, Summerside, in 1965. They have two girls: 1. Julia Elizabeth b. 13 Dec. 1965. 2. Kendra b. 30 June 1971.

2d David Leo b. 17 July 1953. He m. Judy Brander in Kensington in 1974. They have two ch.: 1. Rebecca b. 29 Dec. 1977. 2. Bradley b. 2 Sept. 1980.

2e Crystal Anne b. 2 Jan. 1959. She m. Jaren Lynn Dickieson (Jackie) of Glen Valley in 1980. They now reside in Calgary, Alta. They have no children.

LAURENCE MALONE

Laurence was b. in County Kilkenny, Ireland. He In. Ann Roe or (Rowe) from P.E.I. They lived on a farm in Lower Freetown (code 124) on the Old Malpeque Road, where Jesse Bradshaw now lives. He d. 21 June, 1892, age 72. Ann (1. 1 Dec. 1914, age 89 yrs. Children:

+2a John Roe b. 1859; m. Elizabeth Gill. 2b Mary Estella d. 1 Jan. 1886 age 36. 2c Daniel moved to Miscouche. He was a carriage builder. 2d Michael d. 17 June, 1887 age 24 yrs. 2e Annie; n.f.r. 2f Agnes; n.f.r. 2g Isabel; n.f.r. 2h Albina lived at MacNeill’s Mills.

+2a John R. Malone

John was b. 1859 in Freetown; m. Elizabeth Gill from Iona. She was b. 23 May 1865; d. 18 July 1928. They were In. 23 Nov. 1886 at the Cathedral (St. Dunstan’s) Charlottetown, by Rev. Father Burke. John d. 17 Aug. 1924, age 65 yrs.

John kept a diary for years. Some of his diaries are in the possession of his daughter, Hilda, Mrs. John J. MacDonald, Charlottetown. He wrote that he used to walk from Freetown to Charlottetown to attend Mass. He recorded prices of many articles which he bought or sold. A suit of clothes cost him $8.00. They lived in Lower Freetown on the border of Kelvin Grove. Walter E. Stavert lives on the farm now (code 9). Ch. all b. in Freetown, surname Malone.

2b Mary Isabel b. 22 Dec. 1888; m. John MacAulay, St. Peter’s Bay. They lived in Boston, Mass. They had three children. She d. 1968.

2c Joseph Vernon b. 11 Sept. 1892; lived on the home place, later moved to Alberta. 2d Annie (Maude) b. 25 Feb. 1893; m. Wilfred Connolly, Bedeque; d. 1985. 26 (Ella) Gertrude b. 23 Dec. 1894; m. Louis O’Conner, Clinton. Ella d. 24 Feb. 1930.
