He bought the farm of 75 acres located on the Mill Valley Road (code 38) from Richard Simmons . Darrach carried on a farming operation and also operated a slaughter house on the farm where he pursued a meat business specializing in fox feed. He was a mail courier on R.R.2 for many years and was well known in the large general area surrounding Freetown . Robert Darrach was b. 19 Dec. 1882, the son of Robert Thomas (1854-1924) and Lucy (Burrows) Moase who were m. 1 Sept. 1880. He m. Hazel May Simmons , dau. of Frederick Simmons of Wilmot Valley in 1911. They continued to reside in Freetown until Robert Darrach passed away in 1937. Hazel May d. in 1947. David Spencer b. 1975. Lome was the deputy minister of the P.E.I. Dept . of Education for many years and is now the deputy minister of the P.E.I. Dept . of Community and Cultural Affairs. 3b 2a Norman Darrach b. 24 Mar. 1938. He m. Sheila Simmons in 1964 and have two ch.: 1. Tanya Lynn b. 28 Feb. 1970. 2. Phillip Norman b. Dec. 1975. 3c 2a Beulah Marion Elizabeth b. 4 Jan. 1942. She m. John Dekker in 1968 and have two ch.: 1. Rodney John b. 9 Dec. 1972. 2. Susan Faith b. 16 Sept. 1977. + 2b Hillard Roy Moase Hillard and Mary farmed on the home farm (code 38) until ca. 1952 when they sold it to Hubert McNeill and moved to Hamilton, Ont. They stayed there a few years and returned to purchase a farm (code 113) from Goulding Reeves on the . After residing here for a few years, they sold this farm to Edwin Hammill and moved to Granville where they purchased the Ira Mallett farm. Following the disposal of this property they moved to Carleton Siding and resided there for a short time. Following Hillard's death in 1968, Mary moved to Kensington and pursued her education, specializing in special class education, and teaching for a number of years, until her death in 1981. They had one adopted son. 3a 2b Willard. He m. Windsor Folland and they live in Granville. They have three ch: Willard, Tracy and Trevor. + 2c Waldon Britton Moase Waldon farmed in Freetown for a number of years. He occupied the former Deacon farm (code 45) for a few years and sold it to Sydney Baglole . He then purchased the former Colin Campbell farm, (part code 32) where he lived for some years. He sold this farm and moved to Pleasant Valley , where he bought another farm, now occupied by Denton Clow . While in Pleasant Valley , Waldon answered the call to the Ministry. He left the farm and followed an educational career in preparation for his vocation. He is (in 1985) a minister of the Presbyterian Church in Canada , having recently served in the of Clyde River , Canoe Cove , Churchill and Nine Mile Creek in P.E.I. Waldon m. Alma Morrison in 1946. She is a daughter of Peter and Mae (Keir) Morrison of Granville. They have three ch: surname Moase. 1. Ena May b. 7 June 1949; m. in 1969. They reside in Hunter River and have one ch: Marsha. 2.
