EDMUND PERRY Edmund Perry and family moved to Freetown ca. 1979 and lived in the village until the house they were . living in was gutted by fire. They moved to the house on code 19 owned by Cavendish Farms in 1985, where they resided until the following summer when they moved to Springfield.

Edmund was b. in Tignish and m. May Dugay. They had ten ch: 1. Stephen; 2. Patrick; 3. Wayne; 4. Terry; 5. Margaret, who lived in Freetown; 6. Beatrice, lives in Summerside; 7. Linda In. Urban Chaisson, Summerside; 8. Freda m. James Clements, Burton; 9. Geraldine of Miscouche, d. 25 Apr. 1983; she had two daughters: Sheila and Gail; 10. Another daughter is deceased.

FRED PERRY Fred Perry came to Freetown early in life and worked for Austin A. Scales. After Fred m. Alice Perry in 1940 they went to live in a house at the Scales Hydro Electric Plant where Fred was employed. In 1948

they bought part of the Jeanette Auld house in Birch Grove and moved it to a lot on the Freetown-Kinkora Road (code 70). That part was the original Freetown Post Office. They operated a small canteen in this house for about five years. Following Fred’s death in 1969, Alice moved to Summerside.

Fred was b. in Lawrence, Mass. in 1906 to Marcellin and Elizabeth (Jones) Perry. He m. Alice Perry, dau. of Edward and Marcia (Bernard) Perry in 1940. Alice was b. 1914. Alice came to live with her Aunt Susan and Uncle Manny Handrahan in Freetown in 1929.

Fred and Alice (Perry) Perry had four sons surname Perry.

2a Maurice b. 1943. He m. Linda Pelletier, Eel River Crossing, N.B. He is a printer with Maritime Tel and Tel in Halifax. No children.

2b William (Billie) b. 1944. He m. Sylvia Palmer, Albany. Billie is employed with Simpsons in Toronto. They have six ch: 1. Kimberley; 2. Kevin; 3. Deina; 4. Tammy; 5. Nicole; 6. Gregory.

2c Leslie b. 1947; n.m. He is employed with BoTeck Farms in St. Catherines, Ont. specializing in race horses.

2d David b. in 1948. He m. Linda Matheson, Summerside. He is a graphic display artist with Maritime Tel and Tel in Halifax. They live in Dartmouth. They have four girls: 1. Kelly; 2. Carla; 3. Julie; 4. Melissa. A niece, Stacy Matheson, lives with them.

JOHN PETERS John Peters moved from Kinkora to Freetown in 1983 where they purchased a house and lot on the

main Freetown Road (code 34).

John is employed with Centennial Motors, and Sandra is employed with the RE]. Bag Co. Ltd. both in Summerside.

John was b. 9 Jan. 1960, the son of Henry and Evangeline (Gallant) Peters of Kinkora, formerly from Toronto Road, near Rustico. He m. Sandra Johnston in 1982. She was b. 27 Oct. 1961, the dau. of Arnold and Doreen (Gallant) Johnston of Kinkora. They have one child, Melanie Amber, b. 4 June 1984.

MRS. JOHN (CAROLINE) PICKERING Mrs. John (Caroline) Pickering came to Freetown to keep house for Robert C. Auld in 1958. She remained

at the Auld home until she passed away in Sept. 1961.

Mrs. Pickering was formerly Caroline Eva Britt of Perth Andover, N.B. and was b. 11 Nov. 1878. She m. John Pickering of Sea View, and they had the following family: Anson, deceased; Wallace and Heber, both of Kensington; Marion m. James Evans, Burlington; and Caroline m. Sydney MacGougan, Kensington.
