Walter P. Stavert took over his father’s farm in Lower Freetown and has purchased other parcels of land, code 123 the farm owned by Ray Lidstone, code 124 the farm owned by John Delaney and code 125 the farm owned by Jesse Bradshaw. This enabled him to carry on more extensively and successfully with modern farm machinery. Dorothy is an R.N. Walter, Dorothy and family attend Freetown Presbyterian Church.

They have one son Britt b. 3 Jan. 1982 and a dau. Jennifer Joyce b. 9 July 1984. Barbara is a registered nurse and is employed at the Prince County Hospital. Allan has civilian employment at the Canadian Airforce Base at Summerside. (See Burns history.)

6f 5b4b3e2d Elmer Mabon b. 1 Oct. 1964. He attended schools in Summerside and is now furthering his education at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, NB.
EDMUND STAVERT
William Stavert, b. 1825 and d. 1906, was the son of Thomas and Margaret (Boa) Stavert. He m. Catherine MacMurdo who d. 1924. They lived in Kelvin Grove. They had eight children. One of these was Edmund Stavert. He was b. 27 Apr. 1885. He m. Bessie Andrews, Norboro, 2 Nov. 1921. She was b. 25 Apr. 1899 and was a dau. of Robert and Bessie (Fraser) Andrews, Norboro. Edmund d. at the Summerset Manor 18 July 1977. Bessie presently resides in Kensington.
Edmund bought the Kentford Waite farm in Wilmot Valley in 1921, they farmed there until ca. 1926 when they moved to Lower Freetown and continued farming. This farm is on the extreme north of the Lower Freetown district and borders on Kelvin Grove and Wilmot Valley School districts (code 9). Edmund owned a farm near Edmonton, Alta. which he homesteaded for several years before 1921. It was in 1926 that he made a deal with Vernon Malone, Lower Freetown, grandson of Lawrence Malone, whereby they traded farms. Vernon disposed of his moveables by auction sales and moved to the place which he got in the trade near Edmonton, Alta. After Edmund settled on this farm, he purchased 50 acres from Charles D. Taylor (code 17). He farmed here until his retirement when his son Walter E. took over the farm. They adhered to the Presbyerian Church.
Edmund and Bessie had nine ch. surname Stavert.
2a Edythe b. 22 June 1924 in Wilmot Valley. She attended school in Lower Freetown. She m. James Brown 22 June 1948. They live in Kensington and have one dau. Darlene b. 30 May 1959. She m. Mr. Thompson, Charlottetown.
